Visit Geneva, the city of peace, enclosed between the tranquil mountain surroundings of the Alps and the Jura.

Day 1

Morning: Explore above and underground

Start the day and the entire trip right by climbing up high and overlooking the whole of Geneva like a soaring bird. St. Pierre’s two towers offer you this experience with incredible views of the city and Lake Geneva itself – a very instagramable opportunity. A little extra bonus for your inner Indiana Jones or Lara Croft, there are some intriguing ruins to be found in a crypt just underneath the cathedral that dates back to the 3rd-century BC.

Afternoon: Souvenir shopping

Geneva is home to several brilliant markets full of all kinds of goodies. From fresh fruit, veg and spices to beautiful handcrafted items, they’ve pretty much got everything. Notably, Place de la Fusterie, is one of the most lively squares, and each day of the week different stalls pop up so you can find a huge variety of unique stuff to gift or to keep for yourself.

Evening: Cheese, chocolate and a view, of course! How could you possibly come all the way to Switzerland without indulging in some fine dining? For a truly magical evening, check out Bains des Paquis, a restaurant, and public swimming bath right on Lake Geneva that was built in the 1930s. You can share a cheese fondue on the large terrace overlooking the beautiful lake and then afterward go for a quick little dip.

Night: Class, sophistication and cocktails

You might have already spotted the Jet d’Eau as you fly into Geneva, but regardless it’s worth making a pit stop by the iconic fountain at night to see it lit up in all its glory, as it pumps water 140m into the air. Afterwards, the evening is yours to embrace, and why not use this as a chance to take to the streets in a classy cocktail crawl. Check out the speakeasy-styled La Verre a Monique and try some of Geneva’s wonderful and unique cocktail concoctions.

Day 2

Morning: Coffee and fresh air

First things first, get your caffeine fix at Valmandin, which holds the reputation of being the best coffee shop in Geneva. Following this head to the botanical park for a lovely morning wander. With over 12,000 species of plants, a collection of unique roses and an animal park filled with ancient’s species of indigenous animals, this is the perfect place to stretch your legs and take in Geneva.

Afternoon: Mind out for the black hole

If you’re interested in physics, or better yet just curious about how the world around you functions. Then a trip to CERN could expand your horizons and your understanding of what answers modern science are currently searching for. The site made online fame in 2008 for “almost” causing the world to end as they experimented with black holes. Worth noting, you have to book the tour at least 15 days in advance.

Evening: Watch the sunset at Tropical Corner

As the trip comes to an end, why not head down to Tropical Corner to take in the relaxing atmosphere and unwind as you listen to a live DJ. To make the moment extra perfect, arrive in time to watch the sunset across Lake Geneva as it turns the beautiful scenery into paradise.
Happy Travelling!
